LMD Sgr penalizes school tuck shop for price tag violation
SRINAGAR, MAY 04: Legal Metrology Department (LMD) Srinagar today penalized a school tuck shop for selling uniforms without carrying price-tag on them.
An enforcement squad of the LMD inspected a tuck shop operating in the premises of a private Srinagar school. “It was found that cost of school uniform was not exorbitant as reported in some sections of media. However, labels on the uniforms were not carrying price- tags,” a statement of the LMD said.
Accordingly, a challan was registered against the seller and a notice was served for the lapse as warranted under Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules 2011.
