Sopore : Suspected militants on late Friday evening fired at a man in Herwan village of North Kashmir, a police official said.
According to the official, a person namely Mohammad Ashraf Mir and his wife, Saima, were shot at in Herwan village of Bomia Sopore, the couple sustained bullet injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
However, Mohammad Ashraf Mir succumbed to his injuries, he said.
The official further said that following the incident, Forces cordoned off the whole area to nab the assailants.
Talking to Kashmir Kashmir Images, D.I.G North Kashmir Sunil Gupta confirmed the attack on the couple in Herwan village.
