Comprehensive plan chalked out to strengthen rural economy:  Dir Agriculture

SRINAGAR, MAY 02: Department of Agriculture today observed “Kisan Kalyan Kariyashala” in all the development blocks of Kashmir Division as a part of “Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan”.

The aim of observing the event was to create awareness among farmers regarding the strategies to be adopted for doubling the farmer’s income by 2022.

The divisional level event was inaugurated by Director Agriculture  Kashmir, Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi here.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture said that the event is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s plan to double the farmer’s income by 2022. He said that focus of today’s event is the dissemination of information to farmers on various real-time innovations that have been strategized to strengthen the rural economy.

Spelling out the roadmap of development, Director Agriculture said that a comprehensive plan has been chalked out to strengthen the farm economy. He said in today’s event various success stories and progressive farmers at block level were given due recognition for their efforts.

During the event, discussions between the farmers and Agri-experts were also held in order to introduce the concept of adoption of latest technology in the agriculture sector to boost their income.

Similar functions were also held at all the district headquarters of Kashmir Division.
