Anantnag, Apr 29: Angry people on Sunday blocked the Khanabal-Pahalgam road at Lazibal after a taxi driver was allegedly thrashed by the government forces during frisking of his vehicle.

The locals said that the forces thrashed the driver and damaged the windowpanes of his vehicle (JK03D-7761).

They alleged that a woman and her child travelling in the vehicle were also injured in the forces’ action.

Later, a police official reached the spot and pacified the protesters and assured compensation to the taxi driver, said a local.
