PCPG meeting held at Police Station Nishat

Srinagar, Apr 29: A Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting was held at Police Station Nishat today, police said.

In a statement here, police spokesman said “with an aim to strengthen the relations with public and also to establish first-hand contact with masses, Police Station Nishat convened a public interaction meeting in which a number of respectable citizens including presidents of Mohalla Committees, members of traders associations and other locals also participated.”

The meeting was chaired by SDPO Nehru Park Sadhanshu Verma accompanied by SHO Police Station Nishat Mudasir Shafi.

The participants highlighted various issues like drug menace, alcoholism, gambling, stunt-biking on Foreshore Road as well as some issues pertaining to the Civil administration like non-availability of drinking water, electricity, etc, spokesman said.

He said SHO Nishat urged the participants to exhibit best hospitality towards the tourists coming from all around the world to Kashmir.

Referring to the issues highlighted by the participants, SDPO Nehru Park and SHO Nishat assured them that issues pertaining to police will be solved in shortest possible time and the rest will be taken up with the civil administration for their redressal on priority.

SDPO Nehru Park also sought the cooperation of the participants to maintain the congenial atmosphere in the area.
