Sopore, Thursday 26: Match 1: Imran’s century went in vain as City Smashers thrashed Mars-XI by 9 wickets at Seer sports field. Earlier City Smashers won the toss and invited Mars-Xi to bat first. Riding on Imran’s ton, Mars-XI set a huge target of 209 runs in allotted 34 overs. Imran played marvelously as he scored 108 runs while Saqib added 25 runs as well. Owais of City Smashers scalped 5 wickets.

In reply, City Smashers manhandled the bowling line of Mars-XI as the former chased down the target in 27th over while losing only 1 wicket. Gowhar led from the front scoring 104 runs while as Mujib added 70 runs for City Smashers. Gowhar was undoubtedly declared as man of the match for his match winning ton.

Match 2:

Coaching Centre Sopore batter Sopore Strikers by 98 runs

In second match of the day Coaching Centre Sopore defeated Sopore Strikers by 98 runs here at Amberpora Sports Field. Sopore Strikers decision proved to be futile as they opted to field first after winning the toss. Coaching Centre Sopore set a huge target off 259 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in allotted 35 overs after they were asked to bat first. Irfan Kaloo scored 88 runs while as Rameez added 40 runs as well. In reply Sopore Strikers were bundled out for 160 runs in 26 overs. Irfan Kaloo did shine with the ball as well, picking up 6 wickets and was declared as man of the match.

Match 3:

Chadoora Cricket Club whips FCC Sopore by 1 run

The 3rd match of the day was played between Chadoora Cricket Club (CCC) and FCC Sopore which the later lost by 1 run. At Noorhgah Sports field, Chadoora Cricket Club set a target of 179 runs in allotted 30 overs after winning the toss.  Abid remained the highest scorer with 47 runs while as Tajamul added 30 runs as well.  In reply FCC Sopore fell short of one run as they scored 177 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Irfan and Mudasir added 28 and 24 runs for FCC Sopore. Mudasir took 4 wickets for Chadoora Cricket Club and was adjudged as man of the match.
