JeM commander was among 4 militants killed in Tral gunfight: DGP
Srinagar, Apr 26: Director General of Police SP Vaid on Thursday claimed that one of the militants killed in Tral forest gunfight was the operational commander of the Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) outfit.
In a tweet, Vaid said: “Operational commander of JeM Mufti Yasir was among those killed in joint operation in upper reaches of Tral.”
He also tweeted an undated purported picture of the slain militant photographed alongside JeM chief Masood Azhar.
Yasir was killed along with three associates in a 12-hour gunfight in Lam forests of Tral on Tuesday. Two among the slain were local residents – one belonging to Handoora and the second one to Khargund Tral.
An army soldier and a policeman were also killed in the firefight.
