JAMMU, APRIL 25: A delegation of representatives of Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) Officers Association called on the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here today and thanked her for yesterday’s historic decision of granting time bound promotions to the members of KAS service.

The delegation was led by President, KAS Officers Association, Tassaduq Hussain Mir.

The State Cabinet, it may be recalled, with Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti in chair, had yesterday decided to grant time bound grade promotions to the KAS officers to further enhance their motivation and dedication besides ending their years’ long stagnation.

The cabinet had also decided to implement the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission report in the State retrospectively from 2016.

The officers’ delegation also thanked the Chief Minister for extending the benefits of pay revision to its employees.

These decisions, the delegation informed the Chief Minister, would further induce motivation and dedication among the officers besides ending stagnation among various cadres. They termed the decision as historic while assuring the Chief Minister of continued support in administering efficient governance in the State.

The Chief Minister said that she is hopeful that these steps would improve efficiency in the governance system in the State leading to better service delivery to people.
