Special Cell addresses issues of Kashmiri migrants

NEW DELHI, APRIL 24: The Special Cell for migrants has kick-started issuance of Permanent Resident Certificates for Kashmiri migrants in Delhi.

This step has been reinitiated after a gap of two years and the Cell is receiving overwhelming response from the migrant community. So far, more than 100 applicants have approached the Special Cell for issuance of PRC’s which would start on 25th of April, 2018, an official spokesman said.

He said the special cell has also asked Kashmiri migrants from other cities of the country to approach this office for mitigation of their issues. The issuance of registration cards of family members has also been taken up with the Government of NCT of Delhi.

Various representatives of Kashmiri migrants have appreciated the efforts of the J&K Government especially Chief Minister for taking such initiative keeping in view the hardships faced by the Migrant Community, the spokesman said.
