Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested a man accused of kidnapping a minor in south Kashmir’s Shopian area.
A police spokesman said that they received a report from a person stating that his minor daughter (name withheld) was kidnapped in Zainapora area of Shopian district.
On receipt this information, police acted swiftly and a team led by SHO Zainapora under the supervision of SDPO Zainapora started the investigations.
After strenuous efforts, the said girl was recovered from Sogam area of Kupwara from the possession of kidnapper. The girl was handed over to her parents.
The accused person was arrested and taken into police custody for further investigation.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 17/2018 under section 363 RPC stands registered in Police Station Zainapora, the spokesman added.
