BARAMULLA, APRIL 20: In a grand function at Dak Bungalow Baramulla District Administration today observed Ujjwala Diwas as part of recently launched Gram Swaraj Abhiyan which witnessed huge participation of the general public, various stakeholders, civil society members, officials of RDD, FCS&CA and other departments.
District Development Commissioner Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash was the chief guest where as Additional Deputy Commissioner Farooq Ahmad Baba, officers from various departments were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, various features of Ujjwala scheme were highlighted wherein new free LPG connections were distributed among rural women.
Speaking at the event, the DDC impressed for availing the benefits of these schemes which mainly aims at improving the socio-economic development of the society. He stressed for disseminating awareness especially among rural folk besides exhorting upon various officers to play a pivotal role in the regard.
Terming rural development as the objective of his administration, the DDC urged for the cooperation of people in developing the basic infrastructure in villages.
