Baramulla/Jammu:  Two teenagers were killed when their bike collided with a mini-bus on the Baote-Kishtwar national highway in Doda district Tuesday morning while thirty-two passengers were injured when a bus met with accident in north Kashmir’s Uri area.

In Doda, according to police, the accident took place on a sharp curve near Premnagar at 1015 hours.

The two were rushed to the Trauma Hospital at Thathri where doctors declared them brought dead.

“According to preliminary reports from the spot, it seems that due to heavy rain and slippery condition of the road, the young biker could not control the bike and collided with a tempo coming from the opposite side,” said ASP, Bhadarwah, Rajinder Singh.

He said the bodies were handed over to family members after legal formalities.

The teenagers have been identified as Mohammad Ashan (19)  and Mohammad Irfan (18), both residents of Gandoh.

Meanwhile, at least 32 persons were injured today in a road accident in Uri area of Baramulla district, police said.

SRTC bus (JK01Y-0421) turned turtle at Jabla area of Uri, resulting in injuries to 32 passengers.

Twenty Injured passengers were shifted to Sub District Hospital Uri while as 11 injured were shifted to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment. One critically injured person was referred to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment, reports said.
