Srinagar, Apr 15: Enraged at not being able to withdraw cash, a man tried to damage an ATM in Kupwara district of north Kashmir on Sunday.
Reports said the man, apparently angered due to non-availability of cash in the ATM, broke down the cash tray before he was caught hold of by the guard and handed him over to the police.
The locals later protested against the bank authorities and accused them of putting the people to immense inconvenience by not keeping cash in ATMs in the busy town.
The protestors alleged the ATMs in the area have been low on cash for past over a week and a few machines were “out of order”, putting them to inconvenience.
