2 killed, five injured in accident

Srinagar, Apr 15: Two persons died and five others were injured in a road accident in Kulgam district of south Kashmir on Sunday, police said.

Police spokesman in a statement said that a mini-bus (JK03-8621) turned turtle at K.B. Pora in Kulgam today morning at 9:30 am.

He said seven persons were injured in the accident, adding all the injured were rushed to District Hospital Kulgam for treatment where two of them succumbed.

The deceased were identified as Nazir Ahmad Magray and Musaib Manzoor Wagay.

The spokesman identified the injured as Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Qadir; Nasreena, wife of Irshad Ahmad Naik; Amina Bano, wife of Mohammad Maqbool Khan; Dilshada Akhtar, wife of Fayaz Ahmad Reshi – all residents of Asnoor and Mohammad Maqbool Wani, son of Abdul Ghaffar, resident of Chekhwatoo.

Police has registered a case in this regard, he said.
