Ignoring public sector units in 7th Pay Commission unacceptable: EJAC

Srinagar, Apr 14: The Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has urged the Govt. for immediate implementation of 7th Pay Commission, redressal of pay Anomalies and implementation of medical insurance policy on Govt, public sector and pensioners, a press release issued here by the committee said. The demand was raised during a high level meeting of its leaders under the chairmanship of its president, Ab Qayoom Wani.

The press release further added in the meeting, held at its centeal office, President EJAC Ab Qayoom Wani assured the public sector employees that implementation of 7th Pay Commission without PSU’s will never be acceptable and added that as per the past precedence commissions have been implemented simultaneously on Govt, public sector and pensioners as well.

Wani further said that they had assurances of equal treatment for all by the state Finance Minister, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, as he urged the state Chief Minister, Finance Minister and Chief Secretary for ‘personal intervention’ in ensuring the implementation of the 7th pay commission simultaneously on Govt, public sector employees and pensioners. “Govt has already agreed in principle in 2016 and also announced on the floor of the assembly,” Wani was quoted as saying by the press release.

He further said that the implementation of 7th Pay Commission without PSU’S will hurt all the employees of the state and EJAC will never remain silent on such discrimination, the press release added.  “I urge upon the Govt to speed up the process of regularization of temporary employees and include Contengent paid employees and other categories of other temporary employees in SRO 520,” Wani was quoted as saying.

The press release further said that the leadership of EJAC has urged upon the Govt for the removal of pending pay anomalies especially clerical cadre, masters grade, Employees of electric department, Forest department, Fisheries department and other anomalies pending in different departments, revocation of SRO 202 and reopening the cases of nine employees terminated during 2016 unrest to provide justice to them.
