BARAMULLA, APRIL 14: Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Information Technology and Technical Education, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari today chaired a public durbar at Pattan to get the first-hand appraisal of public grievances.

On the occasion, several deputations from Goushbugh Pattan, Traders Federation Pattan, Guhol Tengpora, Andergam Pattan, Nehalpora, Chanderhama, Buchoo-Pusnaag, Football Association and others apprised the Minister about their grievances.

A deputation from Nehalpora demanded the establishment of a fruit mandi in the area adding that the region is endowed with huge potential of horticultural produce. They also demanded the widening of Pattan-Babareshi road, power receiving station and ugradation of infrastructure pertaining to PHE and PDD.

Meanwhile, a deputation from Magraypora demanded a veterinary clinic and a playground for the village, while as a deputation from Tapper demanded dredging of Balkul Canal which irrigates a large agricultural field of the area.

Trade Union Pattan raised the issue of road widening in the main market and asked to make the Trauma hospital functional within shortest possible time. Ugradation of Palhalan Middle school to High School, irrigation pump for nallah Sukhnag, water supply scheme for Taligam-Wanigam and other basic necessities for the area were the other demands raised by the deputation.

Giving a patient hearing to the issues raised by the deputations, the Minister assured that the genuine demands will be looked into and redressed in a timely manner.

District Development Commissioner, Baramulla Dr. Nasir Ahmad Naqash, SSP Baramulla Mir Imtiyaz Hussain, ADC, Baramulla Farooq Ahmad Baba, SEs of R&B, PDD and Hydraulic, JDP, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, ACD RDD, DSWO, District Officers, Engineers, Sectoral Officers and others were also present on the occasion.
