JAMMU, APRIL 13:  Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta said that government is committed to provide all the basic facilities to people at their doorstep in shortest period of time.

The Speaker conducted extensive tour of Sanjay Nagar and other areas of Gandhi Nagar constituency, during which he met several people.

At Sanjay Nagar the Speaker said that state government is committed for equal development of all sections of society. He directed the concerned officials for proper utilization of resources in a time-bound manner to ensure holistic and sustainable development of the area so that people are the ultimate beneficiaries of the development works.

The Speaker on the occasion announced that lanes in the Sanjay Nagar locality and its adjoining areas would be macadamized while the drains would be covered with grills in the area so that people would not face any inconvenience.

Highlighting the development initiatives taken by him, the speaker said that several upgradation and renovation projects have been started in the constituency for the last three years. He said that many new projects are coming up in future.

He said that delivering good governance with pragmatic approach at the doorsteps of the people is the priority of government. On being apprised of the problems pertaining to road connectivity, water supply, electricity and other basic amenities and developmental needs by locals of the area of Gandhi Nagar constituency, the Speaker assured them that all their genuine concerns will be looked into on priority and directed the concerned officials to take adequate measures to mitigate the problems of the locals in a time bound manner.

Reiterating his commitment, the Speaker said that he is making all out efforts to fulfil the demands of the people, with special focus on providing all basic amenities to the residents of his constituency with the agenda of equitable development.

The locals appreciated the efforts of the Speaker and expressed their gratitude for taking up their long pending demand of on priority and also brought some other issues to his notice for early disposal.
