Srinagar: A civilian was killed during clashes near the site of the gunfight in Khudwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.

Sources said that youth took to streets and clashed with the forces to disrupt the anti-militant operation going on since late last night in Wani Mohalla of Khudwani.

They said that a youth, identified as Sharjeel Ahmad Sheikh (28) was injured during the clashes. He was shifted sub-district hospital Qaimoh where from he was referred to District Hospital Anantnag. A doctor at the facility said that Sheikh succumbed there.

“He had suffered a bullet injury in his abdomen,” said the doctor.
