Baramulla: Hailstorms hit various places in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district damaging vegetables, fruit and other crops . Farmers and fruit growers are anxious because of the losses.
Hailstorm hit the orchards and kitchen garden and other crops in Narwav Sheeri, Tangmarg, Sangrama, Baramulla, Sopore, Uri, Handwara and Kupwara areas. Damages due to hailstorms, farmers said, is estimated to amount to several lacs of rupees.
Farmers have appealed the government to compensate them for the losses.
