Srinagar: Police Station Nowhatta has arrested a notorious drug peddler Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh alias Gullu son of Ghulam Hassan Sheikh of Tujgari Mohalla, Sheikh Colony, Srinagar.
A police spokesman said that the drive was conducted with the active participation of members of Shehri Khas Welfare Committee and Welfare Committee Makhdoom Sahab.
During searches 205 grams of charas was recovered from his possession.
In this regard FIR No 11/2018 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered and investigation set into motion.
The locals have hailed the efforts of the police in curbing drug menace in the area, the spokesman said.
