Veeri reviews arrangements for Shab-e-Meraj

ANANTNAG, APRIL 07 – Minister for Revenue, Parliamentary Affairs, Haj and Auqaf, Abdul Rehman Veeri today directed the officers of the district administration to make proper arrangements for the devotees on the ensuing auspicious occasion of Shab-e-Meraj.

The Minister said this while chairing a meeting to review the arrangements for the pious occasion in Anantnag.

The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Younis Ahmed Malik, SSP Altaf Ahmed Khan, Superintending Engineer R&B Sami Arif and officers of PDD, PHE, Urban Local Bodies, Animal Husbandry, FS&CA, ACRs, SDMs and Tehsildars of the district.

The representatives of Shrine Committees of Kaba Marg shrine, Khiram dargah, Seer Hamdan shrine, Hazrat Reshi sahib also attended the meeting.

The Minister directed the officers of Power Development Department to ensure uninterrupted power supply at all the shrine and asked them to make arrangements of diesel gensets for proper illumination of shrine and its vicinity.

He directed the Deputy Commissioner to ensure adequate supply of essentials besides providing additional quota of rice, sugar and kerosene to the residents. He also asked for provision of clean drinking water for the devotees on the auspicious day in the shrines.

Veeri directed CMO to setup health camps at these shrines, besides making availability of ambulances with medical staff. He directed the officers to maintain cleanliness in and around the shrines by conducting special cleanliness drive besides keeping fire tenders stationed near shrines.

The Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner to setup coordination teams in every area headed by concerned SDMs and officers of concerned departments as members.
