The heads of these associations presented a memorandum of demands to the Speaker seeking an early redressal to their pressing concerns impacting the market operations.

The Speaker held elaborate discussions with the deputations regarding the demands and problems being faced by them. Some of the major issues which came up for discussion dealt with electrification, proper sanitization, dedicated parking places for these markets etc.

The representatives of Apsara road and Nai Basti associations also putforth the difficulties being faced by the shopkeepers and market visitors in parking their vehicles in these market areas. They asked for Speaker’s intervention to find an amicable solution at the earliest.

They apprised the Speaker that with commercial vehicles being not allowed on the roads for these markets which are commercial hubs of Jammu and experience heavy rush, the market operations are suffering.

The Speaker taking note immediately called the concerned departments and sought an explanation on steps taken to solve the problem of parking and other measures taken for these market places.

Assuring his full support to the business community in doing their work, Kavinder said that these market places have been part of the society for a long time and every effort will be taken to find an amicable solution for all concerns.
