IG STC BSF holds meeting with villagers

UDHAMPUR, APRIL-04:- Inspector General of Border Security Force STC, Udhampur Surjit Singh Dogra convened a meeting with the villagers of Roun Domail and Ritti of district Udhampur here today.

During the meeting, IG informed regarding tasks being performed by BSF both as first line of defense on IB and LOC as well as in Counter Insurgency Operations and Anti National Operations in disturbed areas of the country. He informed the villagers that BSF is committed towards ensuring safety and security of motherland and is also participating in development of the area in and around its place of deployment and actively contributing in implementation of various welfare schemes launched by Government of India under the guidance of Prime Minister Narender Modi.

While expressing happiness over close co-ordination and co-operation between BSF and civil population in this area , he informed about the recent incident of killing of four militants at Sunderbani and appreciated the efforts of local public of that area. He expressed hope that similar help and co-ordination will be displayed by villagers of this locality in future also.

He asked the villagers to be parts of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and  in co-ordination with civil administration they should be able to make villages of this locality free from open defecation in the true spirit of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.

IG also informed the villagers that BSF is helping local youth to prepare for various sports competition including wrestling. He also gave information on various welfare programmes being run by Govt of India, like, Atal Pension Yojana, Rashtriya Kaushal Vikas Yojana, Jan dhan Yojana, Mudra Yojana etc and asked the villages to take advantage of these welfare schemes.

The meeting was attended by, Officers/ Officials of Border Security Force, Panches, Sarpanch, prominent citizens of Round Domail and Ritti.
