Arrangements for Mairaj–ul- Alam finalized in Budgam

BUDGAM, APRIL 4:  Arrangements for the ensuing auspicious Mairaj–ul-Alam in district Budgam were finalized today in a meeting convened under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Mohammad Harun Malik.

Among others the meeting was attended by ADC Budgam, officers from Planning Department, PDD, PHE, CAPD, Fisheries, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, ARTO, Cooperatives and Municipal Committees.

Briefing about the decisions taken with regard to arrangements the DDC said that the Executive officers of all concerned Municipal Committees were instructed to conduct special cleanliness drives and initiate proactive measures for dumping of garbage and other waste.

Urging the CMO to ensure availability of staff and ambulances at all sub centers, the DDC said that action plan to this effect has already been finalized. With regard to availability of ration, the DDC directed AD Food to ensure supply of Ration including other essentials at all centers and further they were directed to remain open on Sunday too for the convenience of people.

The DDC also directed the ARTO to ensure hassle free availability of transport facility on the auspicious days and directed him to coordinate with the traffic department so that various bottlenecks to smooth flow of traffic are removed.

During the meeting the DDC directed Department of PHE and PDD to ensure uninterrupted power and drinking water supply. They were directed to provide gensets at prominent religious places and also water tankers at identified locations.

To check illegal profiteering and hoarding in the markets the DDC directed revenue officers/officials to constitute squads who will monitor the proceedings in the markets and if anyone is found involved in illegal profiteering   and selling unpalatable items/Food grains he shall be   immediately   booked under law for further necessary punishable action.

Later on DDC took an in-depth stock of progress being made in the district under SBM in order to achieve ODF status for the district. The DDC urged all the district officers, officers from various engineering wings and rank and file of RDD to work in mission mode and leave no stone unturned in order to achieve the set targets. He asked them to mobilize their subordinate staff especially those who are serving in their home district to act as agents of change.

Highlighting the collateral benefits of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, the DDC emphasized on the need to bring in a behavioral change. He briefed the gathering about the strategy chalked out to achieve the desired targets. He said that Swacchta Cell has been constituted in the DC office headed by ADC who would monitor the status on daily basis. Moreover, nodal and sub nodal officers have also been designated.

The DDC exuded confidence that with the collaboration and conscientious efforts of officers the desired outcomes shall be achieved.
