HCC Reds spank Shining Star Sopore by 162 runs

Sopore: Half centuries by Mudasir, Mansoor and Showkat coupled with disciplined bowling spells of Akeel and Irfan, Handwara Cricket Club (HCC) Reds thrashed Shining Star Sopore by 162 runs. Earlier, Handwara Cricket Club Reds skipper opted to bat first after winning the toss. HCC Reds set a huge target of 290/3 in allotted 35 overs. Both the openers played splendid knocks wherein Mudasir scored 92* and Mansoor Banday added 65 runs. Showkat and Irfan followed the attire adding 53 and 25 runs respectively.  For Shining Star Sopore, Mohammad Assadullah, Latif Ahmad and Zeeshan scalped 1 wicket each.

In reply Shining Star Sopore were bundled out for 128 runs in just 20 overs and lost the match by a huge margin of 162 runs. Zeeshan and Waseem were the only batsmen who showed resistance adding 41 and 29 runs. Irfan Ahmad of HCC Reds picked up first hat-trick of SSL while as Akeel scalped 4 wickets. Mudasir was adjudged player of the match for his splendid unbeaten knock of 92 runs.
