Srinagar: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has expressed serious concern over the killing of innocent civilians in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday. The Committee has impressed upon the various security agencies to use non-lethal means while dealing with the peoples protests.

In a statement, APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that despite claims of the security forces agencies that they follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) while dealing with protesters innocents continue to die in anti-militancy operations across Kashmir valley. He termed the killing of civilians as highly painful and heart wrenching.

“It is so sad that young lives are lost in the Kashmir valley on daily basis. Same happened in Shopian district on Sunday. Despite repeated promises the security forces agencies continue to injure civilians with bullets and pellets. All this has to stop once for all since the killing of an unarmed person is against the humanity,” said Raina.
