Says prevailing situation fallout of wrong policies of State, Centre

Srinagar April 1:  Expressing serious concern over the deteriorating situation in South Kashmir and elsewhere in Valley, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today described the spurt in militancy related activities as a matter of serious concern.

Congress expressed deep sorrow over the loss of civilians and security forces personnel during the encounters, describing it as highly painful and unfortunate, saying that the bloodshed must end in the larger interests of peace. The Party also offered deepest condolences to bereaved families of civilians and security forces and sympathized with them.

In a Statement issued today the Party Spokesperson while condemning the civilian killings,  urged upon the security forces to exercise restraint while dealing with militancy related activities as the loss of innocent civilians is adding more fuel to the fire, which is not in the interest of peace and stability.

He also expressed serious concerns over the injuries to dozens of civilians in South Kashmir and urged upon the people especially youth not to confront security forces and restore calm.

Lashing out at both State and Centre Govt for failing to restore peace, the spokesperson described the present prevailing situation in Kashmir as fallout of mis-governance, mismanagement and lack of policies on the part of PDP BJP regime.

He said said both State & Centre lack any policy regarding Kashmir situation, as a result, the militancy in valley is at the peak again.
