Labour Deptt organizes awareness camp at Pulwama

DDC distributes cheques worth Rs 16,89,667 among beneficiaries

PULWAMA, MARCH 31: Labour Department Pulwama today organized an awareness camp for construction workers in which Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar was the Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion DDC said that the labour class is the backbone for the development of a nation and Government has formulated various welfare schemes for the upliftment of building and other construction workers.

DDC appealed other workers  to register themselves and avail benefits of various schemes. He instructed the officers of the Department to create mass awareness among the people regarding various schemes and programmes being implemented  by the department so that the benefit reaches the deserving beneficiaries. He directed the officials of the department to undertake a proper survey to ensure that all the beneficiaries are covered under these welfare schemes.

During the programme, the construction workers were made aware about different schemes of Labour Department  and also about bank insurance policies for them.

Later on, DDC distributed cheques worth Rs 16,89,667 among the registered beneficiaries.

The Assistant Labour Commissioner Peer  Zameer Ahmad, Bank officials  and scores of labourers from various parts of the district were present on the occassion.
