SRINAGAR: An old school building was completely gutted in a fire mishap at Salamabad Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla District on Friday morning.
According to reports, a massive fire broke out around 6:00 am in an old high school building in Salamabad area of Uri triggering panic in the locality. However, fire tenders were pressed into the service to douse off the flames, but till than fire had damaged much of the property.
The three-room of old school building including Office, Laboratory and Computer lab was gutted completely in the fire mishap, while the exact figure of loss is yet to be ascertained, said an official.
Meanwhile, a police official said that cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. It is pertinent to mention here that earlier in the week four residential houses including many cows and goats were gutted in a fire mishap at upper reaches of Uri.
