Submits project for Humhama-Budgam road four-laning

New Delhi: National Conference Chief Spokseperson and MLA Budgam, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Thursday called on Union Minister for Roads, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi and submitted a detailed project proposal for four-laning of the Humhama-Budgam road.

Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi sought the four-laning of the road so that the access to Budgam District could be enhanced in order to promote better prospects for trade and tourism which would in turn create more local jobs in the area.

“I met the Union Minister for Roads, Transport and Highways and sought the four-laning of the Humhama-Budgam road and submitted a project detailing the proposal. Budgam District has a huge tourism potential that is largely untapped and a better road access from Humhama would not only improve the tourism prospects but also connect Budgam to Srinagar in a better and more efficient way thereby increasing trade efficiency and boosting the economy of both the Districts”, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi said.

The Union Minister assured Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi that the project would be taken up under the Central Road Fund (CRF) at the earliest possible instance.
