Srinagar, March 29: Ganderbal Police organized a police public meeting at Police Station Kangan which was chaired by SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Ahmad Lone.
SDPO Kangan Umar Shah, DySP Ganderbal Ashiq Hussain and SHO Kangan Manzoor Ahmad were present on the occasion.
A police spokesman said that the meeting was attended by representatives of Jamia Auqaf Kangan, Traders Federation Kangan, Drivers Union and prominent members of civil society.
Welcoming the participants, SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Ahmad Lone assured the participants of full cooperation and support in dealing with crime towards the building of a peaceful society, said the spokesman.
A number of issues ranging from law and order, drug menace, traffic congestion, sale of substandard drugs, upcoming Yatra as well as avenues for the growth of local talent were discussed.
Speaking on the occasion SSP Ganderbal gave assurance to the participants that their genuine demands and grievances will be addressed and all efforts will be made to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from society.
