Agri Deptt organizes district level seminar at Pulwama

PULWAMA, MARCH 29:  Department of Agriculture today organized an awareness programme   in which Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar was the chief guest

Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that the farmers should adopt latest technology in agriculture sector to enhance their socio-economic condition. He said that growth in the agricultural and allied sectors will bring rapid transformation in the socio-economic profile of the people of the district.

He appealed farmers to avail benefits from the schemes launched by the government, adding that government has launched several Centre and State sponsored schemes with an aim to uplift the farming community.

He said focused attention is being given to promote agriculture sector, but need is to adopt latest techniques. Dar said the department is also providing hi-yielding seeds to the farmers so that maximum benefit is achieved from the land.

DDC said that such camps will help the farmers to acquaint themselves with the latest technology and practices of agricultural techniques.

On the occasion, experts from the agriculture department, SKUAST –K and bank officials also spoke on various schemes of agriculture, benefits of PMFBY, KCC, soil health card scheme and vegetable crops.

The farmers interacted with the experts and scientists of the department who shared their knowledge and  expertise  with the farmers.

Besides, Additional Development Commissioner Pulwama, Chief agriculture officer Pulwama, Zonal head J&K Bank Pulwama, Cluster Head ( South) J&K Bank other concerned officers and large no of farmers were also present on the occasion.
