Uri: Students of Government High School (GHS) Chandanwari staged a protest demonstration at Chandanwari Uri on Tuesday against the Roads and Buildings Department (R&B) for ‘failing’ to handover the school building constructed by the department.

Protesting students blocked the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad national highway at Chandanwari and shouted slogans against R&B department.

Locals of the area said that they had been requesting the concerned authorities to look into the matter as the students are suffering badly but nobody listens.

However, after getting assurance from Zonal Education Officer Chandanwari, the students called off their protest and traffic was restored in the area.
