Governor, CM, Dy CM greet people on Mahavir Jayanti
Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today extended greetings to the people on the eve of Mahavir Jayanti, an official statement said.
The Governor observed that Lord Mahavira was an apostle of truth and righteousness and the celebration of his birth anniversary would revive the importance of brotherhood and communal harmony for which the state is known in the past centuries.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also greeted people on the occasion. She prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the state, the statement said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh has extended warm greetings to the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.
In his message of felicitations, Dr Singh said that Lord Mahavira was an apostle of truth, peace and righteousness. He further hoped that such occasions strengthen bonds of brotherhood, amity, harmony among the people.
Deputy Chief Minister also prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
