DC Poonch discusses arrangements for Baisakhi festival

POONCH, MARCH 28:  Deputy Commissioner Poonch Tariq Ahmad Zargar convened a joint meeting of officers, members of Gurudwara Parbandhak committee and management committee to discuss arrangements  for  Baisakhi festival here today.

SSP Rajiv Panday, ADC Dr Bashrat Hussain, ACR Ashraf Choudhary and prominent citizens also attend the meeting.

Arrangements pertaining to security, maintenance  of law and order, traffic regulation, street lights, drinking water and Power supply, cleanliness around the Gurudwaras, particularly at Nangali Sahib where big congregations will be held, was  discussed in detail.

The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure that all the arrangements are in place well in time.  Police department has been asked to make appropriate security arrangements for congregations being held during the festival days. DC asked the health department to depute a team of doctors who shall remain camped during these days.

Earlier the representative of Gurudwara Parbandhak committee Nangali sahib informed the meeting about several demands and issues.

It is pertinent to mention that People from different parts of country particularly from neighboring states like Punjab, Haryana and several parts of J&K will arrive at Nangali Saib to celebrate the festival with great zeal and religious fervor.
