Dir Agri chairs sale rate fixation committee meet

SRINAGAR, MARCH 24: Director Agriculture Kashmir, Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi convened a meeting of divisional sale rate fixation committee to discuss rates for Kharief seeds including hybrid maize.

On the occasion, the Director Agriculture impressed upon the officers that quality seed availability should be ensured in all the districts of the Kashmir Division well in time, so that farmers may not face any hardships.

He impressed upon them to personally make visits to all the Seed Sale Outlets so that farmers get genuine seeds on departmental fixed rates.

During the meeting, it was said that 2,544 quintals of hybrid maize have been procured by the department and subsidized sale rate for farmers has been fixed at Rs.10 per kg.

Moreover, the Department has procured 4,800 quintals of paddy K-448 and other improved varieties and sale rate for paddy has been fixed at Rs. 12 per kg.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Inputs, Sajad Ahmad Shah, Director Research SKUAST-K, Prof. Mohammad Saleem, Deputy Director Agriculture Central Amir-ud-din Andrabi, Divisional Seed Certification Officer Asmat Hussain, Water Use Specialist Bibi Tohfa and Accounts Officer Directorate of Agriculture and other concerned.
