Srinagar, March 25: Body of 70-year-old retired fire serviceman was found from a well at Lasipoa village of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwaa district on Sunday morning.
Reports reaching GNS said that the clothes of the man and a torch were found near the well.
He has been identified as Abdul Satar Mir Sogam, Lolab.
A police officer said the body was retrieved by a team of police and local volunteers.
“Investigations will reveal how the man got into the well,” the officer told GNS, adding, “presently his postmortem is being conducted and details of the investigation as they emerge will be shared”.
