Srinagar, March 23: Police on Friday claimed to have solved a kidnapping case and arrested the accused person involved in the crime.

According to a police spokesman, Police Station Vilgam  received a written complaint from one person that his 22-years-old daughter was kidnapped by one Irfan  Najar, son of late Ghulam  Mohammad   Najar, resident of Daril Payeen, Handwara.

A case was registered and during subsequent investigations, police raided various suspected locations,  and conducted searches in and outside the district.

“After strenuous efforts, both the accused and victim were traced out from Magam  area  of Handwara,” spokesman said.

He said the  accused person was arrested and a case (FIR no 11/2018)  under Section 363 RPC was registered in Police Station  Vilgam and further  investigation is in progress.
