PCC Pattan and Tangmarg Victorious start WPL in style

Sopore, March 22:  The first match on Thursday was played between PCC Pattan and Sultan Warriors which the former won by 37 runs. Bating first PCC Pattan posted 157 runs on board in allotted overs, with Irfan (43*) remaining the top-scorer.  For sultan warriors Rafiq bowled a decent spell and picked up 3 key wickets. In reply, the target of 158 runs seemed an uphill task for Sultan Warriors as their wickets fell like a pack of cards and were bundled for 125 runs. PCC Pattan won the match by 37 runs and registered their first win in WPL. For PCC Pattan, Omer and Mohsin bowled tight spells as the duo scalped three wickets each.  Irfan was declared man of match for his sensible knock of 43*runs.

The second match of the day was played between Tangmarg Victorious and Rising Star Baramulla in which Tangmarg Victorious thrashed Rising Star Baramulla by 6 wickets. Bating first Rising Star Baramulla scored 128 runs with Shahnaz (54*) remaining the top scorer while as Sushil added 17 runs as well. For Tangmarg Victorious, Ashraf bagged 3 key wickets. In reply Tangmarg Victorious chased the target loosing 6 wickets in the run-chase. Showket (37*) and Farooq (25) were the leading run scorer’s from Tangmarg Victorious. Mohammad Ashraf was declared as man of the match.
