Sopore: An administrative post in Sopore town is lying vacant from last fourteen days thereby hampering the important official and development in the area.

According to reports, on 7th March, the government ordered the transfer of Khursheed Ahmad Shah who was posted as additional development commissioner (ADC) in Sopore. Till date no officer has took the charge leading to delay in all developmental and other official works.

“I applied for state subject certificate in the office of the ADC Sopore a month ago but due to the non availability of ADC, the clerks cannot issue the certificate,” Suhaib Nabi a local resident of Sopore told Kashmir Images.

Like Suhaib Nabi, hundreds of others too are facing hardships due to non-availability ADC.

Source said that Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, who was posted as ADC Sopore is reluctant to join because of some personal

issues with the administration department.

When contacted, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Nasir Ahmad Naqash acknowledged the problem of the locals. “I hope Mohammad Ashraf Dar will assume the charge very soon so that the pending official and developmental work can be resumed,” Deputy Commissioner told Kashmir Images.
