DSEK initiates plantation drive at Badamwari

SRINAGAR, MARCH 19: Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Dr. G N Itoo Monday initiated plantation drive at Badamwari Srinagar. He also presided over the event to facilitate the adoption of Government Boys Middle School, Kathidarwaza by a Delhi based NGO.

Chief Education Officer Srinagar Farooq Ahmad, Deputy Director News DDK Srinagar Salman Qazi, ZEO Rainawari Shaista Masarat, Principals, Headmasters, teachers and other concerned were present on the occasion.

Dr Itoo said the School Education Kashmir is observing cleanliness week and plantation drives and awareness of the environment is part of the campaign.

He said the year 2018 would be remembered as a golden year in terms of capacity building and infra development as the Government has accorded sufficient funds in the budget for the same.

Deputy Director News DDK Srinagar highlighted the importance of education and stressed on students to take extra care of their studies besides involving themselves in extracurricular activities.

On the occasion, President Navkriti NGO adopted Government Boys Middle school and vowed to provide students with every possible help from the foundation.

During the event, school kids performed various cultural programmes highlighting the importance of trees.
