Bali for joint efforts to nurture future of children

JAMMU, MARCH 18: Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat has called upon the teachers and parents to make collective efforts in fostering the future of the children so that they become responsible citizens to contribute for the development of the nation and society in different fields.

Bali also stressed the need for inculcating value added education to the students from the initial classes so that besides academic activities they can concentrate on other social issues like preserving the rich traditions and values of age old traditions of Indian culture. He said the younger generation is distancing from its roots and basics, which is not auger well for the future, therefore, “we have to make collective efforts to keep our younger generation connected with our traditions and roots, which is must for securing one’s identity, culture and language”. Moral values are the basic principle for any human being and these must be upheld at any cost and teachers and parents have greater responsibility in this greater cause, said the Minister.

Speaking at an annual day function of New Blooming Buds High School and Shamrock Play Way School at village Hakkal in Raipur-Domana near here today, the Minister appreciated the role of private sector in the field of education and said that revolutionary transformation has been witnessed for the past over two to three decades in the State. He said private sector has created the competitiveness amongst the students and parents and thrust is being given on the selection of quality institutions. The private institutions are doing great job in supplementing government efforts in improving the literacy rate and providing quality education to the students across the state. He said on the part of Government, several reformative initiatives have been taken to improve the quality of education and infrastructural facilities at the doorstep of students in the state during the past some years with the result the literacy rate has substantially enhanced.

Congratulating the management of the institutions for their endeavors in spreading the quality education in the rural areas, the Minister wished them success to achieve new heights. He said the annual day celebrations provide an opportunity to the teachers and parents to introspect their efforts, achievements and shortfalls on the performance of the child during the year so that the necessary corrective measures are taken to overcome these.

The Principal of the School, Sunita Janwal presented the annual report of the schools and highlighted the achievements and future action plans to improve the standards of the institutions.

The students presented a mesmerizing bonanza of colorful cultural items that enthralled the audience.

The Minister gave away mementoes to the outstanding students.
