Speaker reviews progress of ongoing works by JMC

JAMMU: The Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today convened a meeting with the concerned officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to review the pace of  ongoing development and allied works in Gandhi Nagar Constituency.

Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Ramesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner, Works, Khushal Chand and other senior officers and Engineers of JMC  attended the meeting.

Officers  informed about the status of works including construction of Hall adjoining Baba Yamana Puri Community Hall at Channi Himmat Mohalla Sandh, Ward No 51 and renovation of Multipurpose Community Hall near Shiv Temple Gandhi Nagar  Ward No. 21 besides construction  and renovation of public utilities at Bazigar Basti Ward No 47 and  Akali Kour Singh Nagar near Gurudwara Sahib Digiana Ward No. 58.

The Speaker directed for timebound completion of the ongoing works  to provide better amenities   to the people .He also  asked the concerned  to expedite the tendering process so that the  development works  are started in  time.

He also directed the concerned authorities to repair old water coolers and install new water coolers at various public places for providing facilities  to people in summer season and also take up beautification works of parks in Gandhi Nagar Constituency.
