Governor, CM grieved over Sameul’s demise

JAMMU, MARCH 16: Governor N.N. Vohra, has expressed grief over the death of S. R. Sameul, an IPS officer of the J&K cadre, who passed away today.

In a message, the Governor has prayed to the Almighty for granting peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss.

Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti too has expressed grief over the death of S R Sameul, a 1999 batch IPS officer of the J&K cadre who passed away today.

Sameul was currently on central deputation.

The Chief Minister has conveyed her sympathies to the bereaved family of Sameul.

Meanwhile, Dr. S.P Vaid, IPS, Director General of Police J&K has condoled the sudden and tragic demise of Late S.R Samuel, IPS, IGP, who passed away this morning in Delhi.

Samuel was on deputation to GoI as Joint Development Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. An IPS officer of 1999 batch, he was posted in the State as SDPO Chrar-i-Sharief, ASP Jammu, AD SKPA Udhampur, SSP Leh and CO IRP 13th Bn.

A condolence meeting was held at PHQ which was chaired by V.K Singh, IPS Special DG. Two minutes silence was observed and the officers present in the meeting prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

A condolence meet was also held today in memory of Samuel.

The condolence meeting was attended by IGP Kashmir S.P Pani, DIG CKR V.K Birdi, SSP PCR Kashmir Shahid Mehraj, SSP Srinagar Imtiyaz Ismail, SSP Traffic Tahir Saleem and other senior officers. The officers expressed their deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul. This was followed by observing two minutes of silence as a mark of respect.
