The bank has clarified that no such recruitment list was issued by the bank and declared it fake.

Reliable sources revealed that the bank has decided to go tough on such online scammers and rumour mongers who circulate fake news about the bank. “This amounts to reputational damage of this premier institution and at the same time cause mental agony to the general public. The bank would be taking legal action against such persons,” said a source in the bank.

The preliminary reports have revealed that the website address mentioned in the fake recruitment list  www.jkbanks.com,  has also been found to be fake and malicious.

“From initial investigation, the scammer appears to operate through a network having patronage of broad online mafia operating from various media. We will soon unmask the culprits responsible for such mischievous act,” they said.

Notably, the culprits by creating a fake website of the bank have committed the offences under the provisions of Information Technology Act – 2000 read with offences of fraud, mischief and defamation under the penal code.

Pertinently, Anti-Fraud Command Centre: Security Team that provides round the clock information security monitoring services to the bank found creation date of the fake site to be March 6, 2018 on the website domain GoDaddy.com. It was found to be faking J&K Bank’s official site. Remarkably, J&K Bank has two corporate websites namely jkbank.com and jkbank.net
