Three drug peddlers arrested in Sopore

Srinagar, March 12:Continuing its drive “War Against Drugs”, Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested three notorious drug peddlers during a naka checking at Sopore. Contraband substances were recovered from their possession and the vehicle they were travelling in was seized.

A police spokesman, in a statement issued here said that acting on a specific information, Sopore police arrested three notorious drug peddlers who were identified as Manzoor Ahmad  Sofi alias Man Dab son of Bashir Ahmad Sofi, Muneer Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Munwar Shah residents of Neharpora Sopore and Farhan Hameed Shah son of Abdul Hameed Shah resident of Noorbagh Sopore during a naka checking near Dumna Complex Neharpora.

These drug peddlers board a Santro car bearing registration number JK03-2660. 680 capsules of Spasmoproxyvan and 24 bottles of Codeine Phosphate was recovered from the vehicle.

A case FIR number 49/2018 under section 8/22 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation has been taken up.
