Speaker inaugurates Senior National Judo Championship

JAMMU, MARCH 11:  Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta, inaugurated Senior National Judo Championship for Men and Women at Multipurpose Gymnasium Hall of Jammu University here today.  More than 15 teams of different parts of the country are participating in this national level sports event.

On the occasion, the Speaker said the government is committed to promote sports activities and develop sports infrastructure in the State. He said that various measures are being taken up in this regard to harness the skill and potential of young players to the optimum.

The Speaker said that by organizing such sports events the sports talent of States’ youth would further be honed up enabling them compete at National and International level. He said by encouraging and organizing sports activities the talent of the youth would get properly channelized for better sportsmanship.

Welcoming the guest players from across the country the Speaker instructed the concerned authorities to make sure that they should not face any inconvenience during their stay in the State. He instructed them to make suitable arrangements of their boarding and lodging so that they may not face any problem.
