KVK Doda Conducts 11th Scientific Advisory Committee Meet

BHADERWAH, March 11: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Doda, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu conducted 11th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting , here  today.

The meeting was chaired by Dr R.K Arora Associate Director Extension (KVKs) Directorate of Extension, SKUAST Jammu.

Senior Scientist and Incharge Regional Horticulture Research Sub Station (RHRSS) Bhaderwah,

Dr Mahital Jamwal, ADO (Veg) Department of Agriculture, Sahid Iqbal , District Horticulture Officer,

Sajjid Mustafa, CAHO, Shahnawaz Ahmad, progressive farmers and farm women representatives, district officers from other line departments, scientists from KVK and RHRSS attended the meeting.

During the programme action taken report and details of activities conducted by KVK Doda during the year 2017-18 as per the approved action plan alongwith proposed action plan for the year 2018-19 was presented by Dr Ravneet Kour Incharge Senior Scientist and Head KVK Doda and discussed in detail among the participants.

Dr R.K Arora, suggested for strengthening the organic clusters of the district in collaboration with the line departments and urged upon to explore the sources of clonal rootstock for apple and popularization of the university recommended technologies among the farmers. He also stressed upon promotion of women entrepreneurship in farm and non -farm sectors with the support of other agencies working for them. Besides he focussed on more number of outreach programmes for benefit of farmers living in far-flung areas.

Others scientists who attended the meeting were Dr A.S Charak, Dr G.N. Jha, Dr Neeraj Kotwal, Dr Manoj Kumar, Rohit Sharma and Dr Sanjeev Kumar.
