Police-Public meeting held at Police Station Pahalgam

Srinagar, March 08: A Police Public meeting was held in Police Station Pahalgam which was chaired by SSP Anantnag Altaf Ahmad Khan.

A police spokesman in a statement issued here said that the meeting was attended by respectable citizens of Pahalgam, traders, Auqaf committees and Taxi union presidents. SDPO Pahalgam Javed Tabasum and SHO Pahalgam Shabir Ahmed were also present on the occasion.

Various issues with regard to the law and order, social crimes and welfare of society were discussed in the meeting.

The spokesman said that the participants highlighted the problem faced by public due to frequent shutdown calls. They also requested to take strict action against drug peddlers.

The other issues which were highlighted were regarding frequent power cuts, food adulteration,  issues related to tenants and domestic violence.

Participants insisted that steps should be taken to address all the issues highlighted in the meeting. They hailed the recent NDPS contraband recoveries, crackdown against gamblers, removal of public nuisances, checking of weights and measures and anti-polythene drive by Police Station Pahalgam.

Moreover SSP Anantnag assured the participants that all the issues raised pertaining to police will be solved as soon as possible, while issues pertaining to other departments and civil administration will be taken up with concerned authorities for their redressal on priority.
