Schools, colleges, KU to remain shut on 8, 9 March

Srinagar: The class work in all the schools, colleges and universities in Kashmir Division will remain suspended on March 8th and 9th while as JKBOSE and Kashmir University have also postponed all the examinations that scheduled to be held till Friday.

Quoting Education Minister, Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari, an official spokesman said that the class-work in all the schools of Kashmir Division except Ladakh shall remain suspended on 8th and 9th March 2018.

On 10th March the class-work in the schools of South Kashmir shall remain suspended, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile Joint Secretary JKBOSE, Syed Abdul Rouf said that all the examinations scheduled to be held on 8th and 9th March 2018 are postponed. He said that the new dates in this regard shall be announced soon.

Meanwhile, Kashmir University too has decided to suspend class work on March 8 and March 9, 2018 (Thursday/Friday).

“Furthermore, all examinations scheduled to be held on March 8 and March 9, 2018 are postponed. Fresh dates for the deferred examinations shall be notified separately, later,” a KU spokesman said.

Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (PSC) on Wednesday postponed all its examinations scheduled for tomorrow.

However, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) has decided to go ahead with its examination schedule on Thursday.

Sources quoting Vice Chancellor Prof. Mushtaq Siddiqi said the exams on Thursday will be held as per schedule.
